Membership Requirements

Membership in CRTA is open to, any retired teacher in the Calgary area who has contributed to the Alberta Teachers' Retirement Fund. Special considerations may be extended to retirees not precisely fitting the above requirement. The annual membership fee is $20.00. Membership entitles retirees to receive the CRTA Newsletter published in September, November, March and May. The Newsletter provides up-to-date information about the activities of CRTA, about ARTA's Group Benefits Programs, volunteer opportunities and news about other seniors' programs and activities taking place in the Calgary area.

The Newsletter is mailed just prior to the four luncheon meetings. These are to be held on October 21, December 9, February 12 and June 11 of this year. The luncheons are a great opportunity for CRTA members to meet with old friends and colleagues. There is a short business meeting and entertainment is often provided by student groups.

Free Memberships in CRTA and ARTA for Newly Retired Teachers!!

Any newly retired teacher can receive a one year free membership in CRTA and ARTA if she/he submits a completed membership form to CRTA and/or ARTA and indicates that he/she retired this year.  ARTA forms are available from the ARTA website - www.albertarta.com  or call 1-800-232-7208 and ask for Local 474.

The Calgary Retired Teachers' Association congratulates all those people who have become "Life" Members!

If you are 85 years of age or older and have been an active CRTA member for five years, you are no longer required to pay membership fees.  Please apply.

CRTA Membership Renewal/Application Form

Prospective members may use this form to apply for membership. Existing members can use this form to renew their membership. The annual membership fee is still only $20.00.
You may pay for more than one year if you wish.

Reminder: A CRTA membership year runs from July 1st to June 30th of the following year:
                 July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011.
