The grey sky did not dampen the enthusiasm that echoed through St. David’s United Church Hall on March 28, during the first Calgary Retired Teacher’s Art Show and Sale.  Over 500 people attended the show, including many familiar CRTA faces. As one artist dubbed it, all the warm greetings and hugs made the event feel “like a convention featuring art.” With 52 participating artists, the quality of the art was astounding; paintings ranged from watercolour landscapes to oil, still-life to modern collage art to sculptures. 

Missed out on the fun? Don’t worry—it was such a resounding success, the second  CRTA  Art Show and Sale has already been planned for March 27, 2010.
